Kids Corner: Practice your English with Uno!

Here’s another way you can practice your English skills but also have fun! I am full of good ideas, don’t test me!

So, you might be thinking “what do I do, just speak English while I play?” no, that’s not genius (but its not a bad idea). What’s genius is using the game UNO to practice vocabulary and phrases based on what your cards play!

Let’s pretend we are trying to learn the months of the year. Here is an example of how that could work:

·         To use a special card, you have to say the correct vocabulary

·         Every time you change colour you must say January

·         Every time you lay 4 of one number you must say February

·         Reverse direction is March

·         You must say April every time you pick up a card

·         … and so on

You can see how this could easily be used to practice phrases, vocabulary, even grammar. You set the rules yourself, write them down were everyone can see them, and then really challenge yourselves. Educational and fun!
