Vocabulary Showcase: “Spooky”

It is the season for the spooky things in the English speaking community. Things that go bump in the night, sounds that cause a fright, and haunted houses with pumpkin lights.

Spooky has some synonyms and here they are in sentences:

“That documentary about Charles Manson was chilling.”

“He looked at the window in the haunted mansion and saw a ghostly face staring back.”

“Halloween is too scary for me.”

“That costume is extremely creepy.”

“There was an ominous feeling in the air as all the children left their homes to go trick or treating.”

“The church bells rang eerie sounds into the night.”

“There was a supernatural look to the creature that crept through the basement.”

“The spine-chilling thought wriggled into her mind... what if she wasn’t alone?”
