Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for “Freedom”

November the 9th is the day the Berlin Wall came down, and American Freedom Day. To celebrate freedom let’s have a look at some synonyms:

Independence – You do not rely on anyone else.

Sovereignty – Your country or state is not controlled by any other country or state.

Autonomy – You choose what you do.

Self-determination – You choose what you do.

Individualism – You are not forced to belong to any collective group.

Emancipation – The freeing of a person or group from a situation in which they are forced to do things.

Let’s celebrate the freedom we enjoy, and encourage others to free themselves and those around them. Do something independent today and enjoy that feeling!
