Vocabulary Showcase: British insults without swearing

insults.jpg

It is a bit of a British tradition to be gently mean to your friends. It is a strange way of showing you like them! The way I look at it is, you know you are really close to someone when you can call them a plonker and they smile.

To have a little bit of fun I have chosen some insults that you can use in English that are not swearing. This means you can have a little fun with friends without offending anyone too much. “Billy no mates” is a way of saying someone has no friends. All the other insults are used to say someone is stupid.

Use these insults wisely! Do not use them on people you do not know and like, these are just for some gentle fun with friends. I hope you’ve enjoyed these insults you mug!
