Blog Updates: It’s Time for Some Change

The Wright English Blog started in July 2020, so I have been writing about learning English, giving advice, making stupid memes, and helping students for over 4 years now. OK, OK, there was a very large 2-year gap, so maybe only 2 years! But, things need to change. Wright English, the world, and the things I do have all changed in that time, so I’m making changes to make sure I can continue to support people learning English for a long time to come.

No More Weekend Posts

Yep, sorry, no more weekend blog posts. I made this decision because I’m only human, and a slow-brained one, and I really need that time to spend with my family, get out of the house, and annoy my husband. That doesn’t mean that I will stop making memes, they are going to move to Wednesdays.

Changes to the Blog Schedule

I’m updating the Blog Schedule to give more advice for GCSEs and A-Levels, without taking time away from younger children’s topics.

Old Schedule on the Left - New Schedule on the Right

Mondays - Vocabulary Showcase (all topics) -> Business Builder (including vocabulary)

Tuesdays - Business Builder -> Highschool GCSE and A-Level Support (new name coming)

Wednesdays - Wednesday Wildcard -> Memes (new name coming)

Thursdays - Kids Corner (young kids to 18-year-olds) -> Kids Corner

Fridays - Gateway to Grammar -> Gateway to Grammar

Saturday - Saturday Supplement (Wright English News) -> Annoying my husband

Sundays - Sunday Funday (memes) -> Annoying my husband

You Can Now Support Wright English on Facebook

It is now possible, if you want to, to support Wright English on Facebook by sending stars. Stars are a way for Facebook to monetize blogs and streams. I make the Wright English blog completely unpaid. So, the time I spend working on educational material is time I am not teaching a lesson or editing a book to make money. Unfortunately at the moment that means I have to be quick, and I don’t have long to think about what I’m doing! With the support of stars from readers who like the blog and want to help me, I can improve the blog with better graphics, more regular posts, and longer and more detailed content.

I will continue to do the Wright English blog entirely for free, and nobody needs to feel like they have to send me money. This is just an opportunity for people who can afford to send a little to support me, to help me earn from the time I spend making educational materials for free, and help me buy groceries for my annoyed husband.

Thanks for reading,

Love Lana x
