Kids Corner: Good cartoons to learn English

It’s not every day you wake up as a cartoon. I decided to make the most of it. My hair looks good so it’s OK. Anyway, it made me think about other cartoons that are good for learning English. Let’s have a look at 4, how they help, and what they are about.

Martha Speaks:

·         Martha is a cute dog!

·         Martha eats alphabet soup and starts to talk.

·         Funny storylines and well written.

·         Helps you learn new words.

·         The words are explained in each episode.

·         Lots of repetition so you learn the words quickly.

Word Girl:

·         Word girl is a superhero.

·         She fights bad guys with English words.

·         Funny and interesting storylines.

·         Good for lots of ages.

·         Helps you learn new vocabulary.

Adventure Time:

·         Jake the dog and Fin the human go on CRAZY adventures with lots of friends.

·         Great for older kids and adults.

·         There are lots of conversations about a variety of topics, places, feelings etc.

·         Very very weird.

·         Great for practicing sentence structure and picking up new vocabulary in context.

Doki:

·         Doki the dog and a team of adventurers explore the world.

·         They learn about new places and cultures in the real world.

·         Great for learning new vocabulary in context.

·         Great for learning about other cultures and what it means to live in them!

Many of these cartoons can be found on Youtube! Availability does change from country to country though so see what is available to you.
