  • Eat -> Ate -> Eaten

Why Should I Learn English Verbs in Families?

It makes sense to learn English verbs in families because it makes remembering how they change with different tenses (the grammar for different times) much easier. Everything in the “En” family ends with “en”. That means when you learn these verbs together they make a kind of rhyming poem. Your poem will use the similar sounds to connect these words together in your head, and all you need to do is remember how one works, and you’ve remembered how they all work.

Have a go! And, don’t forget to check out the other Verb Families in the series. I will make a part 2 I promise!
