What does success mean to you? It’s Monday so we are looking at different words that mean success! Let’s have a look at each synonym in use in a sentence:

·         Prosperity – Traditionally prosperity is used to talk about people having a lot of money or status.

·         Victory – Some would say the best victories in life are when you have all the things that you want and need.

·         Triumph – I think that real success is when you triumph over the sad things in life.

·         Attainment – You can attain great heights in your career, and excellent qualifications…

·         Fulfilment - … but to me the ultimate goal is fulfilment. The feeling that you are satisfied with who you are and what you do.

When I was a child a teacher at my school asked me what success meant to me. I’m still proud of my answer. I said “I could be a carpenter and make chairs all day long. As long as I am making things that I am proud of, and I am a good person I am a success.” I lose sight of (forget) that sometimes, so I try to remind myself that success means different things to different people.
