Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for “strange”

Strange.jpg

Wilson has always been a bit strange. I’m guessing his head is under his wing, but who knows? He once got his beak stuck in a baked bean can so you can never tell with him.

Do you want to increase your vocabulary? Let’s explore some synonyms (other words that mean the same thing) for “strange”, and see them in use!:

·         Odd - Wilson was always a little odd, even as a chick.

·         Weird – Wilson did weird things like clucking at his own feet.

·         Unusual – I always thought it was unusual for a chicken to wear sweatpants.

·         Bizarre – He has this bizarre way of sitting on the goats when they sleep.

·         Abnormal – The most abnormal thing about Wilson is the fact that he eats jam on toast.

·         Off the wall – His sense of humour is a little off the wall. He plays tricks on frogs in the pond.

·         Quirky – Wilson’s walk is a bit quirky, maybe it’s because he can’t find his head.

·         Wacky – All chickens are a bit wacky. They are all tiny dinosaurs.

I live in hope that Wilson will find his head again. He might be a bit unusual, and he might be a tiny modern dinosaur, but he is a valued friend around here. See if you can increase your vocabulary by trying out these new words for “Strange”.
