Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for “pure”

Yum yum yum, pure honey! Honey with no other ingredients, only what the bees made. I can wash it down with a glass of pure water! You may have noticed that “pure” means that only that one item is present. There are many other words which mean “pure”, so let’s take a look at some synonyms! (words that mean the same):

• Unadulterated (not changed) – That is unadulterated bee’s honey!

• Uncontaminated (not infected with other items) – We need access to uncontaminated water for the villagers.

• Distilled (purified) – I have some excellent distilled whisky for you!

• Refined (processed and concentrated) – They sell refined olive oil at the super market.

• Neat (no additives) – I like my brandy neat! No additives for me!

• Undiluted (no added water) – I like my orange juice undiluted.
