Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for ‘oblivious’

Larry is going to have a very nasty surprise in a moment. For now though, he is totally ‘oblivious’ to the cat that is stalking him (he has no idea). Let’s take a look at other words which mean oblivious:

·         Peter was unaware of the gigantic seagull flying behind him, looking at his bag of chips.

·         Alice is ignorant to the way small children play, so she was confused when they threw toys at her face.

·         Graham was heedless of (didn’t pay attention to) the danger he was in when he decided to steal a biscuit from his wife.

·         Clive was quite unobservant, so it took him 3 hours to notice he had arrived at work with no clothes on.

·         Tina was unsuspecting as she entered the perfume shop, so she was quite surprised when a small goat walked past her smelling pretty nice.

·         Christopher was impervious to (it didn’t affect him) good advice, so he decided to drive over the wet concrete anyway.

·         Janet was blind to the activity around her, and managed to walk through a funfair without noticing.

I hope Larry enjoys that peanut.
