Business Builder: English Lunch Meetings

luncmeeting.jpg

It can be difficult to find opportunities to practice your Business English speaking in a low-pressure situation. It can feel stressful and embarrassing to practice with clients and colleagues. My solution is to organize Business English lunch meetings.

1. Find colleagues you are socially close to / friends who are interested in Business English / strangers online who would like to practice their Business English speaking with you.

2. Create a regular lunch meeting. You can pick a café or restaurant where you can eat and discuss business topics in English while you socialise.

3. How often would you like to meet? Create a schedule. Can you meet once a week? This will help with your fluency and give you time to practice new vocabulary and pronunciations.

Though we are all working from home as much as possible at the moment, you can create a similar situation with online meetings from home.

This could be an opportunity to meet like-minded people from around the world to practice together, and socialise a little, in a time when we all feel disconnected.

Try it out and tell us all in the comments how it goes!
