“My English isn’t very good. Am I good enough to learn with you?”

I get asked this a lot. Maybe I have a scary face! In short the answer is, you are good enough to learn with me. If you can tell me about your English using English, we can communicate enough to have lessons together.

Everyone starts somewhere. It can be scary to begin learning a new language, especially if you are meeting a stranger for the first time. One of my students told me she had been thinking all week about meeting me. Then she met me, and it was all a bit surprisingly easy and I’m not scary at all! I don’t want you to be worrying about meeting me all week.

Yes I am a teacher, and yes I do have a plan to work with you in a way that improves your English. No I am not going to be like a scary school teacher from the 1950s, and no I am not as angry as my face looks! I’m actually a quite smiley, friendly person. I want you to know what to expect from your free lesson:

1.       We will meet in a video chat, wave, and introduce ourselves. Lots of smiles!

2.       I will tell you a little about myself, then I will ask you about yourself.

3.       We will talk about what you want to learn, and how you want to learn it. We will talk about your goals, and your plans for the future.

4.       We will talk about what you are interested in, where you live, what your hobbies are. More smiles!

5.       I will tell you what I think we can to together to reach your goals, and how I teach. We will discuss this.

6.       We finish up the lesson answering your questions and talking about the future. More smiles and waves!

7.       The lesson ends and I send you an email with your free learning plan in it.

8.       You decide in your own time if you want to be a paying student in the future.

That’s it. It’s all very free and easy. If you can say hello, email with me, and smile then you are “good enough” to learn with me. If your English were perfect, you wouldn’t need me!

I hope that puts some minds at rest. I would be delighted to meet you and book a free trial lesson with you. They are fun, free, and easy. If you would like to book a free trial lesson with me click the button below.
