Vocabulary Showcase: “new”

It’s January 2021, and I don’t know about you, but I have been desperate to start this year and leave 2020 behind. For me, the thought of something new has always held so much promise, adventure, excitement, and the possibility for better things. Let’s look at other ways to talk about things that are “new”:

Up to date / Latest / current / modern: - These words are used to describe things that are appropriate for now! They are the opposite of old fashioned.

Fresh / pristine / mint: - These words talk about the condition of an item. They have never been used or damaged.

Novel : - Novel describes a new creation / idea / theory etc. Perhaps you have never thought of this thing before, or done this thing before.

What is new for you in 2021? I have switched to natural deodorant, so I spread less plastic around in the ocean. This is novel for me, and I want to help keep the ocean pristine!
