Vocabulary Showcase: Synonyms for “confused”

Are you confused? If nearly a year and a half of a pandemic, whatever that summer was, and why Donald Trump still has teeth don’t confuse you, you are stronger than me. So, to explain the last few years I feel like we need some synonyms for confused!

·         Bewildered – “I am bewildered by the amount of choice in the chocolate section of the supermarket.”

·         Muddled – “Whenever I try to remember all the names of monopoly streets, I get all muddled and get them wrong.”

·         Befuddled – “I love space, and everything about it but it just befuddles me how big everything is.”

·         Bemused – “I’m not very good at maths, so when I have to buy things with cash, I just look at the coins bemused.”

·         Puzzled – “The cooking instructions for this pizza are puzzling. Why does it say boil?”

·         Baffled – “I’m baffled by people voting for Donald Trump.”

·         Stumped – “I’m trying to fill out my tax form, and I must say I am stumped. I can’t work it out”.

·         Flummoxed – “Trying to choose a washing powder just leaves me flummoxed. Don’t they all clean clothes?”

So, next time you are confused (so for me that will be tomorrow) you could be puzzled, baffled, flummoxed, or bewildered!

What befuddles you? Frankly, everything happening at the moment befuddles me.
