Kids Corner: English battle with your kids!

Put your hands down! This war is fought with words! English battle is a very silly, very effective, and fun way to learn and practice English. Follow these simple rules to enjoy a fun adult / child English battle.

·         Find something the child needs to practice in English (vocabulary? Sentence structure?)

·         Find something difficult for the adult to learn (kids slang? Made up words? Pokémon names?)

·         The challenge begins!

·         The kid has to get as many words/questions right as possible, the adult has to remember as many words as possible.

·         The winner gets a reward, the loser gets a forfeit (small punishment)

Reward ideas:

·         Gummy bears

·         Choses the film you watch tonight

·         Choses takeaway option for the month

·         Is allowed to call mum/dad Fluff face for the rest of the week

·         Is allowed to wear a spider man outfit in public this weekend

Forfeit ideas:

·         Must eat those HORRIBLE jelly beans that taste like snot and toothpaste

·         Must run around the garden yelling “I lost the battle!” 10 times

·         Must clean or tidy a room

·         Must clean the dishes

·         Must take the rubbish out all month

This could actually be a great way to settle arguments in the house. If there is anything you cannot agree on, challenge your family member to an English battle. Get your gummy bears ready for the war!
